how do i make a sig/banner ?

hi. can anyone here suggest how to make a banner or a sig? do i need any special programs or anything? i want to make a banner/sig... just for fun only.. but i don't know how...

and, what fonts color scheme should i use???

Seems that our forum have a black background colour, i would suggest that to have a red, yellow, orange colour font in ur banner or signature.

To put a signature (picture) just host it at someplace like imagesharks or this forum service provider site and copy the url~list.
